Jim Charette
Greetings,
Just read about your group in the Herald News a few moments ago.I have a particular interest in this cemetary myself as I more than just grew up near it.I have lived near it my entire life and have many memories of times spent in there from riding my bike in there as a small child to ‘hanging in the boneyard’ with my fellow crazy teen cohorts. We were not of the graffiti sprawing or stone toppling ilk and treated it with the respect it deserved as it always was ‘our park’ as it were.As an adult I have returned there many times to walk and clear the fog.The city has in fact done an amazing job of keeping the place clean and presentable and for that,I applaud them. It’s one of the reasons I still return there from time to time.In a world of constant change,it has always been the same, like an old friend to me.There have been changes. Not the least of which and most notable for me personally,is the inclusion of James R. Charette Sr.,my father. So you see,I am very grateful that you have started this group and I will be joining.
